12/20/2017 0 Comments Watercolor Leaves!I used watercolor paints to recreate an exact image of specific leafs I found and positioned to use as a reference image. I was using lighter shades to start the coloring of the leafs, even if they were dark colored, so that I can add different shades of other colors that give the leafs an increased realistic factor. Color was most definitely an important key to getting my painting the way it resulted, I layered shades to create the illusion of an actual leaf instead of a simple based shade used for the entire leaf, giving it no character. I learned how to firstly create a basic shape and turn it into something both recognizable and lively.
