1. This artwork contains a re-created image of a sea turtle and coral at the bottom of the display. I used the cross-hatching method to create more depth and texture for the designated drawing.
2. I learned how to crosshatch. I used the cross-hatching method to create more depth and texture for the designated drawing.
3. I believe that the different levels of thickness between all the lines made a grand impact on the overall resulting image.
4. I knew I wanted to create an image of either an animal, but I was temporarily indecisive with what I truly want to create. A peer of mine recommended a turtle and I stuck with that.
1. I created a personally carved ink print, inspired by a specific video. The image contains a boy wearing a sweater sitting on a wooden patio looking off into the ocean body, a singular balloon appears to be floating away from him high up in the air.
2. simply used two levels of blade thickness when carving my image into my block. This technique allowed some carving lines to appear deeper in comparison to others.
3. I messily lined up the wooden patio to give the image more character, instead of having perfectly formed carving lines. I refused to have my image look too simple, but I didn’t want it to result in an overdone design.
4. This video I was inspired by means a lot to me, due to the fact that I am apart of the fanbase of those involved. I found a lot of aesthetic artistic value in the overall production of the video and used a frame from a singular scene to re-create with this assignment. I wanted to create an ink print that has a sense of personal value to it, I didn’t just want to create a design that I was semi-attracted to.
